Saudi Arabia - USB C Charging Ports for Electronic Devices Update
The enforcement which was earlier scheduled to begin from 01st August 2024 onwards for certain types of electronic devices (click here for list) is now postponed to 1st January 2025 by SASO due to the challenges encountered by Manufacturers and Importers to comply with these new requirements. The following points shall be noted based on this latest update from SASO:
- Ensure that your P-CoCs expiring after 1st January 2025 for the listed products comply with the latest requirements before the enforcement date. You are required to submit evidence of compliance to Intertek before 1st January 2025 in order to keep your P-CoCs active in SABER.
- Ensure compliance with the latest requirements for any new P-CoC requests or requests for renewal of P-CoCs for the listed products. Intertek will issue/renew P-CoCs only after ensuring compliance with the latest requirements are met.
