Shipping and Transport Committee
The Shipping Committee changed its name at the beginning of 2015 and amended its remit to the Shipping and Transport Committee – a move designed to better reflect the diverse and integrated mix of businesses which make up the region’s transport industry.
Formed in 1847, following the merger of the Hull Shipowners’ Society with the Chamber, the Committee has a long, distinguished history of representing the interests of the shipping, transport and logistics sectors in the Humber region.
The Committee holds regular discussions with the port operators and also considers strategic transport issues in the region, particularly concerning port access. The Shipping and Transport Committee meets quarterly, usually at the Chamber’s offices in Hull. For more information, please contact David Hooper.
The Chairman of the Shipping and Transport Committee is Albert Weatherill, of McAusland Turner.
