Airco nomination aids Daisy Appeal

Airco nomination aids Daisy Appeal

Pictured in the Airco business lounge are (from left) Neil Fisher, Managing Director of Airco, Claire Levy, Fundraiser at the Daisy Appeal and Pat Coyle, Chair of the IoD East Yorkshire Branch.

THE Daisy Appeal received more than £800 from one of the big events at this year’s Humber Business Week after being nominated in a prize draw by leading refrigeration and air conditioning firm Airco.

The Institute of Directors (IoD) East Yorkshire Branch organised the lunch, which took place at the KCOM Stadium and attracted more than 300 people to listen to former England footballer Kevin Keegan as guest speaker.

Each table organised a collection and nominated a charity, with Kevin then drawing the names of the three charities to share the total proceeds of £2,500.

Neil Fisher, Managing Director of Airco, put forward the Daisy Appeal because of his personal experience of the charity and in recognition of its work in the Hull and Humber area.

Other charities which benefited were the WISHH Charity, selected by the University of Hull, and Cash for Kids, chosen by Forrester Boyd.

Claire Levy, Fundraiser for the Daisy Appeal, said: “The charity is delighted to have been nominated by Airco. It gave us a great opportunity to get our name in front of an influential business audience of more than 300 and it is a brilliant way to raise awareness of the Daisy Appeal and the current appeal to complete the molecular imaging research centre at Castle Hill, which will help to save many more lives in the East Riding of Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.”

Other speakers at the event included Pat Coyle, Chair of the IoD East Yorkshire Branch and Pat Coyle, Director of Marketing and Client Relations at Rollits, and Jenny Howard Coombes of Freedom Festival.

Pat said: “We are extremely thankful to our guests for digging deep and raising so much to benefit these fantastic local charities.”
