CR Parrott Consultants helps students polish their interview skills
CR Parrott Consultants Limited, in association with Esh Group as part of their Added Value Initiative, was delighted to deliver a presentation on ‘Interview Skills’ to Year 10 students at Frederick Gough School, Scunthorpe. Delivered by Finance Director, Kathy Fillingham and Business Support Manager, Emma Rowson, this presentation was the fifth and final presentation in a series of session focused on improving core employability skills in young people.
CR Parrott Consultants are keen advocates of the importance of instilling employability skills in young people enabling them to confidently seek gainful employment post-education. In the past the company have offered summer placements to university students keen to work within the industry, however, this is the first time that they have gone into a school and delivered a presentation of this nature.
Kathy Fillingham said, “As a company we place a strong emphasis on developing our staff and providing them with the skills they need to succeed within the workplace, and this ethos is very much the basis of our desire to help young people in the wider community. I am involved with Young Enterprise, and I’ve seen first-hand the benefits of businesses and schools working together. Employability skills are an essential part of everyday working life, and we hope that these sessions will seamlessly aid the transition between education and employment and allow young people the opportunity to shine in the workplace. As part of our continued support in this vein, we hope to foster close links with Frederick Gough School in particular, as well as continuing to work with Esh Group ”.
Ben Lawrance, Head of Frederick Gough School added, “Employability skills play a very important part in the curriculum and ethos at Frederick Gough School. The need for young people to understand that academic qualifications are not the only attribute to ensure successful employment has never been more significant as schools are not being encouraged as much to develop them in young people.
In order to successfully develop these skills and qualities, employer engagement is essential to provide the proficiency, knowledge, relevance and credibility. We are very grateful and delighted that companies such as CR Parrott Consultants Limited provide their time and expertise.”
