Hobson & Porter teams driving smart thanks to new fleet investment
HOBSON & Porter’s site teams are moving around the region in style, thanks to an investment of more than £400,000 in a new vehicle fleet.
26 new vehicles, a mix of Peugeot Boxer tipper and Vauxhall Vivero vans, have been supplied by Beerhouse Self Drive as the result of an ongoing partnership with the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire-based contractor.
The new vans feature livery designs showing the face of the Humber region’s iconic skyline. Hobson & Porter has had a presence in the region for almost 50 years, contributing positively to the built environment and delivering projects that continue to enable it to grow and prosper.
Mike Gibbin, financial director for Hobson & Porter, said: “We have chosen to invest in this new fleet with vehicles that are more fuel efficient and lower in emissions. The tipper trucks are also class-leading in payload, saving fuel and improving productivity.
“We have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Beerhouse Self Hire for several years and have been pleased to support another local business by continuing our service agreement with them.
Mike added: “This new fleet investment will improve our presence in the region and help reinforce the Hobson & Porter brand, which is building on success and delivering social value and lasting legacy on all of our projects.”
Hobson & Porter is currently involved in several major schemes across the Humber region, including the multimillion-pound Aura Innovation Centre, at Hessle’s Bridgehead Business Park for the University of Hull. The centre, due for completion later this year, will be a purpose-built facility that provides large businesses and SMEs with the space to collaborate and innovate to deliver low-carbon energy and clean growth.
It is also the main contractor for the £7.2 million Molecular Imaging Research Centre at Castle Hill Hospital, being constructed on behalf of the Daisy Appeal.
On the south side of the bridge, Hobson & Porter is currently constructing the new £2.3million Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Alford, which will also see the construction of a new sports centre. It was also recently awarded a £2.2million scheme for a new factory unit on behalf of South Street Capital in Long Bennington, for Bennington Foods.
