Look forward to a healthier future - post coronavirus
UNCERTAINTIES about what the future holds, when the UK gradually emerges out of lockdown, are compounding business managers’ and workers’ fears about catching Coronavirus, which has already put intense pressure on people’s mental health.
Concerns about future jobs, life after furlough and business prosperity, when the country regains a “sense of normality,” are among persistent worries and they have spurred leading HR specialist Amica to devise a program of activities, including podcasts and articles, to make a positive difference during Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from May 18 to 24.
The move comes as the Lincoln-headquartered business, which has a London office and a base in Hull, continues to support clients across a wide range of industries.
Amica HR Director David Grech said: “Throughout the lockdown we have kept in close contact with clients via telephone and video link, answering their pressing questions and ensuring they are always up-to-date with the flood of Government announcements.
“Although the Government is pulling together its plans for a gradual lifting of the restrictions, it is clear that businesses and their employees have many concerns about how their respective futures will pan out.”
Fellow Director Suzanne Tricker said: “We have always offered as comprehensive and well-rounded advice as possible to clients, having carefully checked the latest information from experts in other fields, such as mental healthcare and financial services.
“We know everything is simply not going to be the same as it was for businesses and workers before the pandemic hit, which is why we have decided to team-up with a wide range of partners to deliver a mix of quality podcasts and webinars every day next week.
“These will feature a different daily topic, ranging from the importance of mindfulness to ways to plan for a stronger financial future, workplace wellbeing, making changes for the better and will even include Feelgood Friday tips.”
Each daily upload will be free and accessible via Amica HR’s website (www.amicahr.co.uk), with links from our social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin.
Sector experts contributing to the sessions include: BlueBell Healthcare (Sheffield), LIVES (Lincolnshire), MoodBeam (Hull), Michele Mook (York), and Gary Jones from Music and Health (Hull).
Amica HR added that the articles and podcasts will be positive, to the point, easily accessible and of a reasonable length.
In the meantime, alongside these sessions, Amica HR remains committed to continue providing clients old and new with the latest employment-related help and advice in the days ahead.
