Appeal for mentor volunteers to support youth enterprise scheme
THE Youth Enterprise Manager at Hull City Council, Charles Cracknell, is establishing a bank of volunteers to support the young people he works with on the Making Changes for Careers Programme www.mc4c.co.uk.
He is looking for volunteer mentors who can give as much time as they can spare – some of their current volunteer mentors are from across the UK working via email and or phone and in some cases via video link.
They have over 200 young people who need support during this difficult time, some need business advice as they are either running or in the process of setting up a business at the start of the emergency, some need help preparing for work and some just need someone to talk to because they are isolated at the moment. Many of the young people on the Making Changes for Careers Programme are distanced from the labour market when they first work with them.
Charles and the Youth Enterprise Team will be extremely grateful for any support and have also set up an emergency fund under the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank www.youthenterprise.co.uk to help individual young people in need.
If anyone can volunteer as a mentor, or if someone wants to make a donation to the Emergency Grant Scheme, please contact Charles Cracknell on (01482) 505427 or 07990510211.
