Chamber pays tribute to businessman John Rix
CHAMBER Chief Executive Dr Ian Kelly has paid tribute to popular businessman John Rix who has died aged 82.
Dr Kelly, said: “Everyone at the Chamber was greatly saddened to hear this news.
“John Rix was one of his generation’s leading businessmen – a well-known, straight-talking and hugely respected figure in the business community.
“The Chamber honoured Mr Rix with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards in October 2015 and he was given a standing ovation as he made his way to the stage to collect his award.
“He was a popular figure who made a big impression in the business community in this part of the world and he will be sadly missed. We send our condolences to his family”.

A memorial service will be held on Monday 14th August, at 3pm, at Hull Minster (formerly Holy Trinity) and afterwards at the Guildhall.
The family has requested no flowers and donations only at the service.
