Christmas gift kickstarts 2019 fundraising for local children’s charity

LOCAL accountancy firm, Forrester Boyd have raised £3,000 for When You Wish Upon A Star to kickstart their 2019 Santa Express fundraising.

Forrester Boyd, one of the leading independent accountancy firms in the Lincolnshire and Humber region, hosted their annual Charity Christmas Quiz at the Grimsby Golf Club on 28 November. Attended and supported by many local professionals, the quiz attracts in excess of 150 people.

Each year, the firm take this opportunity to support the When You Wish Upon A Star charity who light up the lives of many seriously ill children in the region at Christmas by organising the Santa Express journey on board the Northern Belle.

Quiz host and partner of Forrester Boyd Alan Nesbitt, presented the cheque to Joanne Wright of When You Wish Upon A Star. Commenting on the presentation, Alan said, “We host this quiz night every year and it is always great fun for all involved. To be able to raise this money for such a worthy local charity is such a pleasure and we would like to thank everyone who attended the quiz and helped to raise such a fantastic amount.”

It costs £85,000 to put on the Santa Express experience and the money to enable this to take place comes from the kind support of local individuals and businesses. Joanne Wright, Area Manager for the charity said, “We are delighted that this will start the fundraising for next year.  Without doubt, the trip wouldn’t happen without this sort of support as we’re also making individual Wishes come true throughout the year for children with life threatening illnesses.  We can’t thank the staff enough for all their efforts, and those teams who took part.”
