HETA teams up with Hull Kingston Rovers for new season sponsorship

A TRAINING company which is strengthening its links with professional sport to underline the importance of commitment and dedication is to mark its 50th anniversary by joining the ranks of new sponsors for Hull Kingston Rovers.

Humberside Engineering Training Association (HETA) will promote its services on the sleeves of the team’s shirts throughout the 2017 season, which kicks off in February.

The commitment builds on the sporting links which HETA has developed by bringing in big names from the regional sporting scene to speak to apprentices. HETA has also sponsored Rover and Hull FC in recent years.

HETA, which is based in Hull and has branches in Scunthorpe and Stallingborough, was founded in 1967 and is one of the leading engineering training providers in the Humber region. The company specialises in training apprentices to build the workforce of the future and it also helps to enhance the skills of existing employees.

James McIntosh, Business Development and Marketing Manager at HETA, said the partnership will help to raise awareness of the company and its services among people who are planning to embark on careers in engineering and among employers in all sectors who need to recruit dedicated apprentices.

James said: “The team at HETA are delighted to be working with Hull KR over the 2017 season. The ethos of both of our organisations is very similar in that we are here to serve the local community and we recognise the importance of such qualities as commitment, dedication and resilience.

“The strength of the club’s focus on its work with the young people in the local area also appeals to us as these are potentially the next wave of engineering apprentices that could come to HETA to learn. As we approach our 50th year in business we are looking forward to a successful partnership with Rovers and with the other businesses which are supporting the club.”

Joe Clutterbrook, Hull KR’s Head of Commercial, said: “This is HETA’s first year as a Hull Kingston Rovers kit sponsor but I’m sure they need no introduction to our supporters or to the people of Hull.

“Their reputation as the prime training provider for a number of industries within the region is well deserved and we are delighted they see working alongside the club as a valuable way of raising their profile and attracting both new apprentices and employers over the coming years.

“As a club, we take our role in the local community very seriously and we will do all we can to help promote the opportunities available with HETA to local people seeking employment and to businesses looking to create a strong local workforce with the skills to succeed.”
