Motorhog revs up for release of new business units
A CAR sales and spares site which was part of the nationwide Motorhog network is set to support new companies and create new jobs after being transformed into a business park.
Phase one of the construction of the Tower House Lane Business Park has brought the provision of 13 units which are being aimed by Garness Jones at light industrial and trade counter use.
Eamonn Stones, Senior Surveyor at Garness Jones, said: “We started working with Motorhog on this site during the summer and the result is a very impressive new facility which has the potential to bring new jobs to the area by encouraging start-up businesses and by attracting other businesses which want to relocate to high quality premises.
“As individual units Tower House Lane Business Park is ideal for small businesses and trade counter operators, and the flexibility which comes from being able to merge multiple units will help to attract larger businesses to a site which is across the road from the Green Port Hull development.”
Richard Martin, Managing Director of Motorhog, said the company is considering options for future projects at the site, which occupies a total of seven acres off Hedon Road in Hull.
Motorhog operates a number of large sites around the UK for the sale and auction of used cars and the supply of wheels, tyres and other parts. The company is based in Doncaster, where it has already turned one of its surplus sites into a business park.
Richard said: “We have another site in Hull at Jenning Street so we decided to develop this one as a business park. It’s in an ideal location and we were able to secure support from the European Regional Development Fund.”
The units are all newly built and start at 1,566 square feet with the potential to take adjoining buildings up to 14,810 square feet. The total space available is 24,270, with parking for all the units and electric gated access to the site.
