Overseas Trade Awareness Workshops to offer FREE help, support and advice for exporters
IF you are daunted by the prospect of exporting to Europe and beyond, the Chamber’s International Trade Centre (ITC) has the help you need!
In March the ITC is running a series of workshops, in partnership with the HEY LEP, to help steer existing or potential exporters through the maze of rules and regulations.
Top international trade experts will be attending a series of workshops and sharing their knowledge and expertise in exporting to Europe, e-Commerce and global VAT. They will also be available for one-to-ones to help businesses with their export development and market research plans.
The Chamber’s International Trade Manager, Lorraine Holt, said: “We’ve got a great panel of speakers for each event so this is an opportunity not to be missed for Hull businesses to improve their knowledge and skills - and it’s totally free to attend!”
The first workshop is on March 1 and will look at Exporting to Europe and how to navigate the EU-UK Trade and Co-operation Agreement, offer technical and practical advice on how to do business in the EU, including setting up an entity in the EU, and look at business opportunities in the EU and Germany in particular. Our speakers for this event include William Bain, from the British Chamber of Commerce and Lesley Batchelor, who is a former Director of the Institute of Export, and also the British Chamber of Commerce Germany.
The second event on March 14 will focus on International e-Commerce and Cross Border Digital Trade and look at best practices in growing a business globally, provide top tips for websites, market places, social commerce and distributors.
The session will also look at action planning and come up with the top five next steps to help you “Grow fast, Grow Global”.
The speakers for this event will be Jessica McNally, e-Commerce Advisor at the DIT and Sarah Carroll, from Grow Global.
The last event in March will look at Global VAT and International Trade Services. With a focus on VAT in international trade (e-Commerce VAT – sales through websites and/or an online marketplace, and VAT implications when trading with between multiple countries), fiscal representation and international VAT solutions, international trade support available for Hull-based companies and grants and funding which may be available. Louise Boussemart, from SimplyVAT, will be the speaker.
All the events will be held at the University of Hull, so don’t miss out, book your FREE place on the Chamber’s website www.hull-humber-chamber.co.uk/events
