Phillips 66 Humber Refinery working hard to keep the UK connected and supporting communities
THE Phillips 66 Humber Refinery is working hard to ensure it can continue supplying the essential fuels and products it makes to keep the country connected during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The company says the wellbeing of the refinery's staff and the safe operations of the refinery are its top priorities and they are proud of the way their employees have adapted and continue to work safely.
They are continuing to operate the refinery to meet demand.
Phillips 66 prides itself on being a responsible company and a good neighbour supporting communities where possible. It recognises this unprecedented event happening across the world and as such has supported the Humber Refinery in making a larger, positive impact into the surrounding communities.
Domestic abuse has seen an expediential rise during the COVID-19 lockdown, increasing by two-thirds on the same period last year and was identified recently in the news as a top priority by Humberside Police.
Phillips 66 is supporting two charities covering our region and will be donating £40,000 split across the north and south banks of the Humber region, to Blue Door (covering North & North East Lincolnshire) and to Women’s Aid, in Hull. The team hope their donation will help to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
Last week refinery staff started to deliver essentials and food parcels to local people neighbouring the plant in North & South Killingholme that have been identified by the Government as Shielded. They hope this will give some extra support to their neighbours during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Humber Refinery recognises its important role in supplying fuels to keep the country moving in this unprecedented and difficult time and will continue to monitor developments and remain flexible in adapting to fulfill this role.
