Scunthorpe business hit by email scammers
BUSINESS organisations are warning companies and their customers to be on the look-out for bogus emails after a firm in Scunthorpe became the latest victim of spoof emails.
Humber Merchants of Scunthorpe have become the victims of an attack which has seen emails with trojan horse attachments purporting to be from the firm.
The company says the emails have not been sent by them and asks recipients to delete the emails without opening any attached documents. It also assures recipients of the emails that they do not have their contact details.
The matter has been reported to the police and the company urges anyone receiving such emails to contact police on 03001232040 www.actionfraud.police.uk
