Ultimate continue bold investment programme to support customers and long-term growth plans
ULTIMATE have furthered the huge investment they have been making over the past few years with the recent purchase of a sixth flexo press, helping support the company’s exciting growth plans. The BOBST EXPERT CI, one of the latest offerings from BOBST, will allow Ultimate to substantially increase their printing capacity and be even more reactive to customer requirements.
The press is an 8 colour unit with the ability to print using both solvent inks and water based inks, the current forefront of sustainable flexo technology, which along with their ‘Ultigreen’ range of films and ‘AdaptMAP’ shelf-life enhancement knowhow put the firm at the forefront of production of sustainable flexible packaging solutions.
Upon the announcement of the purchase of what will be the 5thBobst press into the business, Operations Director, Jon McCarthy says “this latest GPS press adds even more capacity and flexibility to our production facilities this latest press will fit seamlessly in with the other presses enabling us to ramp up production very quickly and with the added benefit of also been able to print water based inks it further enhances Ultimate's sustainability journey”
Delivery is expected in August, with the press set to be fully operational and put to work by the end of the month, cementing Ultimate’s position as the largest independent flexible packaging manufacturer in the UK.
In addition, Ultimate have placed orders for a further 2 Bimec slitters to ensure they can support the increased print capacity and we are also expanding our warehousing locally, with the warehouse facility expected to be ready for occupation at the end of August.
