Young professional returns to her home town as Wilkin Chapman recruit four new trainees.
YOUNG Grimsby professional Keighan Lovett has returned to her home town to start her legal career at the region’s largest law firm.
Keighan, 22, a graduate of Northumbria University, studied at Grimsby’s Havelock Academy and Franklin College before deciding on a career in law and completing her four-year combined Law and Legal Practice Course in the North East.
On its completion, Grimsby was her top choice and with work experience at Wilkin Chapman in Cartergate under her belt, Keighan came back home for her two-year training contract.
“Yes, family was a big pull for me, however there is a lot to be said for Grimsby. I really like the people here and this firm has gone a long way to putting the town on the map. I am proud to have come back,” she said.
Keighan starts her legal career in the firm’s Personal Injury team but will move around during her traineeship. She is one of four new trainees to have started with the firm – two of them joining her in Grimsby and a fourth at the Lincoln office.
Brittany Codling, from North Yorkshire, starts with the Commercial Property team in Grimsby after successful studies at the University of York, followed by her Legal Practice Course, (LPC) at the University of Sunderland and Eleonor Whitehead starts in Dispute Resolution in Grimsby – from Hull she studied in the city and nearby Leeds.
Meanwhile, Evie Bristowe is joining Dispute Resolution in Lincoln. From Sheffield, she studied Politics and Sociology in Leeds before a completing her LPC back in her home city.
