CPTPP and Free Trade Agreements Support For Businesses

The Chamber's International Trade Centre hosted a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) themed webinar with the Department for Business and Trade's (DBT) Free Trade Utilisation Unit on Tuesday, 11th February 2025.
The webinar started with a review of the support and tools available through Chamber membership and the DBT to help businesses understand FTAs, the terminology, origin requirements and how to access the benefits.
We then looked at the UK's relatively recent accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the benefits and opportunities that will bring to UK businesses.
The webinar can be viewed by clicking here.
The DBT has asked us to let them know if any of our exporters and/or importers experience problems with trading under this agreement so that they may raise the issues at a higher level and speak with the individual CPTPP members and their customs authorities.
Likewise, if you are willing to share positive stories/experiences of trading under this free trade agreement, please do get in touch as the DBT would like to put together a series of case studies.
If you do have any questions at all about free trade agreements, trading under the CPTPP or any other UK trade agreement, please do get in touch with our International Trade Centre by clicking here.
