Family Mediators At Rollits welcome Government voucher scheme
The Family Mediation team at Rollits will be taking part in a new government initiative which will see £1m invested in family mediation.
Under the scheme, the Ministry of Justice will provide contributions of up to £500 per family, to help families resolve issues relating to children following parental separation. The fund will reduce the costs of mediation for at least 2000 families.
Family mediation is a process in which an independent, professionally trained mediator helps parents work out arrangements for children and finances following separation. Mediation can also be helpful when previous child arrangements need to change, particularly as children grow up.
Family Mediation at Rollits is provided by specialist Family lawyers - Sheridan Ball, Alison Benson and Karen Myles who are accredited by the Family Mediation Council (FMCA).
Alison Benson said “The scheme is very much welcomed by the mediators at Rollits and is a positive step forward for family mediation. It will help parents choose mediation as a means to help them resolve differences which have arisen around the arrangements for their children following separation without having to go to Court.”
