Former Chamber President honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award

Former Chamber President honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award

JOHN Clugston, a distinguished former President of the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Clugston Group, was honoured with the GSMG Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards.

The popular businessman (pictured left) served as Chamber President in 2005 and received his honour during a standing ovation at the Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards which were held this year at the Baths Hall, Scunthorpe.

The Clugston Group is a privately owned, limited, group of businesses founded more than 75 years ago by Mr Clugston’s father, LG Clugston.
In that time, the Group has grown to become a well-established organisation with a leading reputation in construction, civil engineering, logistics, property development and facilities management.  The company employs over 500 people with operations stretching across the UK.

Current President Steve Eastwood presented Mr Clugston with his award following a speech by GSMG Editor Michelle Lalor.

The full list of award winners is below, and extensive coverage of the evening is featured in the Grimsby and Scunthorpe Telegraphs, both in print and online.

The awards ceremony was filmed by Estuary TV and a one-hour highlights programme will be broadcast on Wednesday, June 3, at 8pm.
