HoH Food Hall – A Vibrant Addition to the City
HoH FOOD HALL is an exciting new concept in the heart of the Hammonds building which combines a vibrant collection of dining, organic grocery, retail, food, music and art offerings including artisanal food and beverage stations.
HoH Food Hall has created over 200 local jobs in a community of foodies, creatives and emerging artists. The 30,000 square foot industrial space will feature over 12 differing food and beverage locations such as the Vinyl Lounge, the Tin Man Bar, and 1821 Cocktail and Coffee bar.
For those looking for a drink, hand-pulled, locally brewed 1821 HoH Beer will be available from the keg. Alternatively, those who prefer wine can hang around the counter of Vino Deli for charcuterie boards and a choice of over 300 hand-picked wines selected by Peppe, a Food and Beverage Specialist from Italy.
Eann Smith, creator and operator of HoH Food Hall said;
"With the help of the building owners, we have managed to create a destination that Hull can be proud of. HoH is a hive of local producers, makers and bakers. We aim to attract 2 million visitors a year and breathe life back into the City centre.’'
"Our artisanal and organic farmers market will carry over 6,000 hand-picked produce items, working closely with suppliers in Hull and Yorkshire to bring the best farmers and growers into our food hall. Every week we hand-select producers to offer experience led tasting workshops and masterclasses, so our customers get to meet the people behind the produce."
"We also have pop-up opportunities up for grabs for aspiring producers to promote their brand or concepts in our food hall. This gives a platform to those talented individuals, helping launch their products to the public. This rotation will keep HoH fluid with a vibrant mix of creative independent businesses."
HoH will also feature ‘Guerrilla Street Kitchen’ - a concept that will facilitate local chefs who may not have the opportunities to open their own restaurant, creating a community spirit that showcases and celebrates local talent.
For local music fans and artists, the HoH Food Hall will also be the home of new and fresh music opportunities. The project is steered by Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum producer Jake Gosling, who has worked with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Libertines and KSI at Goldun Egg.
Jake, in collaboration with Mike White of Browse Magazine, will curate a diverse programme of music events including internationally renowned acts and local artists, and a #HoHNewMusic playlist. Additionally, a recording studio will be in the HoH basement from next year.
Jake Gosling said; “I’m really excited to be a part of Hammonds of Hull. There is such an amazing music scene in this City. Its rich musical heritage can create opportunities for all musical creatives across the region….and I can’t wait to reach out to the local talent and help with live events and curate music for in-store playlists.”
Continuing on the music theme, the food hall will feature a record shop, hosted by Bug Vinyl Records. Bug Vinyl will trade a broad range of new records located in a purpose-built shop adjacent to the exciting vinyl bar, which will host live music performances and DJ sets from local record collectors. Combining the record shop and vinyl bar will be the perfect place to hang out, listen to curated playlists and enjoy a drink with friends.
“We can’t wait to open our new shop as part of the HoH Food Hall and bring our great range of new vinyl as part of the live music and DJ programme at this great new concept in Hull,” said Neil Harris, Owner of Bug Vinyl Records.
HoH Food Hall will formally open to the public on Friday, December 3rd with a weekend-long launch event featuring live music, local street food concessions and entertainment.
