HULL AND HUMBER CHAMBER  member Myton Law has been listed for its maritime expertise in the 200 ‘Best Law Firms 2022’, it is one of only four practices noted for maritime work in England & Wales.

Published by The Times, the list is compiled by independent research company Statista by asking solicitors and barristers to recommend the best law firms in England and Wales in 26 categories.  Votes from more than 4,500 respondents generated ‘The Times Best Law Firms 2022’.

The listing says ‘Hull-based Myton Law has particular expertise in shipping, rail and logistics and operates from offices overlooking the Humber.  The firm’s specialist casualty unit is experienced in dealing with marine or transport-related incidents.’

he entry also highlights Myton Law’s role in advising Parkol Marine Engineering on a £3 million boat build contract with an Irish fishing company and the firm’s recent invitation to become an affiliate of the Rail Safety Standards Board.  It also mentions Myton Law’s role in the city of Hull, commenting on a recent donation towards the restoration of Hull’s 14th  Century St Mary the Virgin church, home to monuments to Hull’s maritime pioneers.

“It is great to see that, though we are a relatively small team based in Hull, when it comes to recognition for our specialist shipping, rail and logistics expertise Myton Law ranks amongst the largest of the London-based firms,” said Myton Law director Scott Yates.

Myton Law was one of just two law firms in Hull to feature in the 200 and one of only eight in Yorkshire.

BaseD on Hull’s Humber riverfront at Victoria Pier, the firm advises logistics businesses both in the Yorkshire and Humber region, nationally and internationally, including rail freight, shipping, port and multimodal operators.

In October Myton Law was named as a top source of legal expertise for ‘Transport’ in the Yorkshire and Humber region in the 2022 edition of Legal 500, a guide to law firms.

Established in 2010, Myton Law is an active member of the Hull & Humber Chamber, the National Workboat Association, British International Freight Association, Team Humber Marine Alliance (marine and off-shore supply chain companies), United Kingdom Warehousing Association, the Leeds Marine Insurance Association, Drone Major (an association for commercial drone users), the Rail Freight Group and is the first law firm affiliate of the Rail Safety Standards Board.

The Times Best Law Firms 2022 was published on November 4.
