Luxinar supports Ron Dearing UTC Careers Expo 2021

LEADING laser manufacturer Luxinar is proud to be supporting Hull’s Ron Dearing University Technical College (UTC) at its Careers Expo 2021 taking place at the school on Friday 30 June. 

Luxinar has been established for over 20 years and has sold over 18000 lasers for industrial applications worldwide.  In addition to nearly 200 employees at its Hull manufacturing site, the company has sales and service offices in China, Germany, Italy, South Korea and the USA, including many in skilled manufacturing and engineering roles.  Luxinar is keen to promote careers in this key sector of the economy and the need to recruit those with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) qualifications.

Peter Willson, HR Manager at Luxinar, said: “As a major partner of Ron Dearing UTC, Luxinar is committed to helping nurture and develop students who may ultimately become our own future colleagues.  Already we have several mechanical and electrical apprentices who are Ron Dearing UTC’s former students, so we have a good idea as to the challenges young laser technicians and engineers face at the start of their career. We are pleased to promote the opportunities Luxinar can offer, as well as providing general careers information at this important event.”

Luxinar is one of a number of companies that will be participating at the Hull event and its stand will show the wide variety of roles at the company.  Students will have an opportunity to speak with some of Luxinar’s employees about their journey into this sector and find out what a typical working day looks like.
