New categories added to annual business awards

New categories added to annual business awards

LONG-STANDING and family-run businesses will be recognised in new categories at the 14th annual Chamber Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards.

For 2025, there are 12 different categories for businesses to enter for the awards which will be held on Friday, April 11, at Goole High School.

New additions include categories that aim to recognise the achievements of both long-standing and family-run businesses of all sizes and from all sectors to shout about their successes by completing the quick and easy entry form.

This year, there are 12 different categories for businesses to enter and new additions include categories that aim to recognise the achievements of both long-standing and family-run businesses.

The organising committee, which is made up of volunteers from the local business community, is encouraging businesses of all sizes and from all sectors to shout about their success by completing the quick and easy entry form.

As in previous years, the independent judging panel will also be asked to select an Overall Business of the Year Award from the entrants, and the organising committee will nominate someone to receive the Tim Richardson Lifetime Achievement Award.

Local businessman Garrey Haase, chairman of the organising committee, said: “We always try to keep things fresh by reviewing the awards categories each year and committee members felt that it would be particularly nice to recognise some of the longest-standing businesses in the area for their continued success and resilience, as well as family-run businesses which involve several members of the same family or even successive generations of the same family.

“We know that there are some really inspiring, successful businesses in Goole, Howden and the surrounding villages and we want them to come forward and share their stories so that we can celebrate their success. The entry form is really quick and easy to complete, so it’s well worth sparing a little time to fill it in – we’d love to hear from you.”

Entry is open from today, visit https://www.goolebusinessawards.co.uk/

All entries must be submitted by midnight on January 31, 2025.
