Progressive regional accountancy firm welcomes trainee cohort of 2021
FORRESTER BOYD, one of the leading independent accountancy firms in Lincolnshire and the Humber, is delighted to welcome the class of 2021. Seven new trainees have joined the firm and now embark upon the journey to becoming qualified accountants on the firm’s exceptional training programme.
Joining the Grimsby office is Lauren Fryer. After studying at Franklin College, Lauren decided that the Higher Apprenticeship route “appealed more than a typical university course”. She is looking forward to “learning necessary skills for accountancy with a reputable firm”.
The second trainee joining the Grimsby office is James Lilley. James joins the firm from completing his A-Levels at Franklin College. James is “looking forward to learning skills in a working environment”. James chose Forrester Boyd because “they provide a great training programme which will be beneficial to me, allowing me to progress my career in accountancy”.
Two further trainees join the firm’s Louth office. Hayden Young joins the firm following graduating from Lincoln University with a degree in accountancy and finance. A keen football fan, Hayden “regularly heard praise of the friendliness and professionalism of Forrester Boyd” from his parents, clients of the firm, which led him to “wanting to pursue his career path with the firm”.
Joining Hayden is Phoebe Willey. Following study at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Phoebe chose the trainee programme as she believed the idea and prospect of being able to learn on the job as a trainee accountant was invaluable. “I will be able to benefit from the extensive training alongside gaining vital experience in the industry. Forrester Boyd is a local firm to me, and they stood out due to their business morals and professionalism”.
Elliot Hyke joins the Scunthorpe office following studying at John Leggott College. Elliot is “looking forward to learning all aspects of what it takes to be an accountant, both from an educational and professional standpoint; and there’s no better way to do this than working with the best accountancy firm in the region”. Keen footballer and hiker, Elliot likes to challenge himself. “When I saw that Forrester Boyd was recruiting for its trainee accountant programme, it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on. Just from the interview alone it felt really welcoming, so I knew I would enjoy it if I got the role. And after the first few weeks, it has been even better than expected”.
Joining Elliot in the Scunthorpe office is Amy Varley. Joining from John Leggott College, Amy is “looking forward to getting hands on experience in a real work environment”. She enjoys badminton, walking her dog and international travel.
Rounding up the seven trainees of 2021 is Rhys James who joins the firm’s Hull office following graduating from university with an Accounting and Financial Management degree. Rhys is looking forward to “continuing studies with ACA, gaining new knowledge and progressing his career with a bigger firm”.
Kevin Hopper, Managing Partner said “After another difficult year, it is great to welcome our annual trainee intake, as it really does bring a positive feeling to the firm. The intake looks as strong as ever and I am sure they will all be ready to put in the much needed hard work to progress and succeed. We all look forward to helping and guiding them in their development not only as individuals, but as well rounded accountants and business advisers”.
Forrester Boyd’s training programme has nurtured and developed some of the top talent in the region. In fact, out of the 17 partners within the firm today, 14 of them started out on the training programme, reinforcing the firm’s ethos of providing opportunities to local talent.
