Trinity Live to bring top local musicians to Hull indoor market

TRINITY Live will resume on Thursday March 14th with an early start and a bumper line-up of five performers from the city’s array of musical talent.
The season will continue with more free live music every Thursday through to December 19th with the market’s fantastic food and drink stalls staying open for the show.
Trinity Live made its debut in 2019 in the run-up to the annual, and enormously popular, Humber Street Sesh festival. It has become established as one of the city’s most successful live music events and is expected to be even more popular this year with HullBID again stepping up to help spread the word.
The project is part of a package of events which includes Hull Street Food Nights, Trinity Festival Rebooted and a Teenage Market and is supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. In addition Hull City Council has committed a total of £50,000 over two years and HullBID will contribute £20,000.
The first of this year’s Trinity Live sessions will run from 5pm until 9pm and tie in with the Tower of Light and Cultural Tides events in the city centre. The next 11 events will run from 6pm until 9pm every Thursday until May 30th with the first season featuring a total of 38 performances from bands and solo artists all selected by Sesh Events. Details of the Trinity Live schedules for the rest of the year will be announced once the acts are confirmed.

In addition to Trinity Live, fans of local live music are looking forward to the final round of the current season of Trinity Live Rebooted, which will present around 50 performances in bars around the city centre on Saturday March 30th starting at 2pm.
The events dovetail with a wider live music programme which includes weekly Sesh nights at the Polar Bear Music Club every Tuesday and the annual Humber Street Sesh extravaganza at Hull Marina,

Businesses in the market welcomed the return of Trinity Live and Old Town publicans are hoping that music fans will make a night of it.
Anna Beaumont, owner of Cone Queen in the market, said: “It’s great news and I’m really looking forward to it. Big events definitely mean bigger crowds and that helps all of us so hopefully we’ll be able to spread the word, get a good turnout from day one and build on that.”
Dennis Wann, licensee of Ye Olde Black Boy and The Sailmakers Arms in High Street, said: “I’ll be aiming to get to some of the Trinity Live evenings because it’s only round the corner and I’m hoping some of the crowd will come to High Street to continue their evening.
“Trinity Live is a great way of attracting people into the city centre and the Old Town and the key is to also encourage them to support the fantastic pubs in the area. We’ve got two of them and our message is that the fun doesn’t have to finish just because the music stops!”
Kathryn Shillito, HullBID Executive Director, said: “Trinity Live is a great event in its own right and also a welcome sign that summer is on the way with a wide variety of festivals and activities which always bring a real vibrancy to the city centre.
“We’ll be working closely with Hull City Council and the organisers of Trinity Live to help the event reach a wider audience and to attract the crowds to enjoy the free entertainment and to support the businesses which are so important to our city centre.
“We’ll be announcing details soon of the HullBID events programme for 2024. People can expect the return of Dino Day, Superhero Day and Hull Street Food Nights, so Trinity Live is just the start!”
