Michelle one of three nominees for 'Business Woman of the Year'

Michelle Mills, General Manager of Hales and Coultas in Scunthorpe has received honours as one of the top “Business Woman of the year” at this year’s North Lincolnshire Business Awards.

The annual awards event is held to celebrate inspiring organisations and individuals that show drive and determination to succeed, overcome obstacles and make a difference.

Announcements for all categories were made on the 22 April 2021 at a virtual event, with the winner of the category going to Jayne O’Flynn, from Driver Hire. However, Michelle was one of just three shortlisted and was recognised for her outstanding contribution to her business. 

Since becoming manager of Hales and Coultas heating and plumbing, Michelle has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and has achieved remarkable growth and profitability within the organisation.

Through offering training and development opportunities and ensuring the workforce is supported, Michelle has put a huge focus on creating an engaged and valued team, which she attributes to her success.

Michelle Mills, said: “I was absolutely blown away and humbled to have been shortlisted for such a huge award. It’s  one of the greatest highlights in my career without a doubt.

"None of the work we’ve done to transform the business over the last few years would have been possible without my fantastic team and the support of my manager.

“We’re all just so proud of how far we’ve come and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Hales and Coultas.”

Having implemented new processes and procedure, and with a clearer understanding of the business and the industry as a whole, Michelle is already making plans for future growth of the business.

“From the beginning, Michelle has clearly established herself as an inspiring leader, but did so in such a way that staff understood clearly what was expected of them, whilst remaining approachable. Her door is always open.”
