Chamber members urged to support Drax consultation
DRAX has confirmed the next steps in its planning application to make BECCS a reality and put the Humber in pole position to reap the benefits of this new technology.
A Drax spokesman explained “The Government’s recently published Net Zero Strategy and Biomass Interim Strategy outlined how BECCS can achieve ambitious contributions towards the UK’s 2030 climate target.
“In the same week, BEIS also announced that the East Coast Cluster was named one of the UK’s first carbon capture, usage and storage clusters.
“Following these welcome announcements, we are pleased to confirm the next steps of our planning application to make BECCS a reality and put the Humber in pole position to reap the rewards of this exciting new technology.
“We would be grateful if Chamber members would get involved and respond to the consultation by the 12th of December”.
