Chambers helping businesses locally, as BCC consults with Government over Ukraine war
IN response to the rapidly developing and changing crisis in the Ukraine, the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce is working with other Chambers across the country, and the British Chambers of Commerce to provide support and assistance.
The BCC's Director General, Shevaun Havilland is holding regular meetings with Government Ministers and keeping the Chamber network informed of key developments.
At local levels, Chambers across the country have all agreed to operate in lockstep with the Government and fulfilling our roles to help businesses as much as possible.
Further guidance will come from British Chambers as the situation develops, and also from Government, covering things businesses locally will be affected by.
Individual Chambers are currently directing fundraising through the Government’s Disaster Emergency Committee
G7 energy ministers are meeting to seek to stabilise oil and gas prices whose price spikes are starting to cause serious problems particularly for a number of important SME’s in the supply chain
Key groups are being established on trade, energy and market specific advice for companies directly trading with Ukraine and Russia.
Following our meeting of the Chamber's Shipping and Transport Committee this week, our Vice President, Albert Weatherill, of Van Meyde McAusland Turner highlighted that one of their staff is Ukrainian and has offered to help anyone who needs translation help with visa applications or anything else.
Gordon Sewell, of Sewell Law, also pointed out that Francis Ledbury at Williamsons Solicitors may also be able to offer assistance with legal issues.
