Greater Lincolnshire Mayoral candidates quizzed at hustings

Andrea, Jason and Rob take questions from the audience at the hustings.

LINCOLN University’s Medical School hosted the first of the Mayoral Hustings events in our region ahead of the May 1 elections.

Several local organisations joined forces to stage the events, including Lincoln University, Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce, the CBI, the FSB, Future Humber and Make UK.

Nominations closed on April 2.

Three candidates attended. Sally Horscroft (Green Party), Jason Stockwood (Lab) and Rob Waltham (Cons).

Andrea Jenkyns (Reform UK) was involved in a collision on her way to the event so couldn’t attend.

Other candidates who have now declared include Marianne Overton (Ind) and Trevor Young (Lib Dem).

The Hull & East Yorkshire Mayoral Hustings will take place on April 24 at the Aura Innovation Centre, Bridgehead Business Park, Hull, at 4.30pm.

The candidates are: Luke Campbell (Reform UK), Rowan Halstead (Yorkshire Party), Anne Handley (Cons), Kerry Harrison (Green Party), Margaret Pinder (Lab) and Mike Ross (Lib Dem).
