Chamber webinars focus on building business resilience during coronavirus disruption
THE Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce hosted the first in a series of webinars with a panel of key business leaders looking at how to build business resilience during times of disruption.
The panel included the Managing Director of Young’s, Seafood (Frozen) Yvonne Adam, Chamber President and Managing Director of Link Agency, Phil Jones, Director of Superyacht Supplies Ltd, Ian Jarvis, and the Managing Director of Good Travel Management, Kevin Harrison.
Attendees were able to submit questions to the panel who answered as many as they could during the hour-long webinar on subjects as diverse as the importance of marketing in a crisis, the impact of coronavirus on the property sector, the impact on companies trading internationally and the business travel sector.
The panellists felt that communication was important to ensure that customers were kept informed and that technology will be used more widely for meetings. The view was that many workplaces would be repurposed and while things would change after the coronavirus challenge, those changes could ultimately be for the better.
Chamber President Phil Jones, who participated in the webinar, said: “This was the first webinar we have done and it seemed to be well received. Members from the Hull & Humber Chamber were joined by members of its sister Chamber the British-Caribbean Chamber of Commerce, all sharing a common interest in the challenges of restarting, rebuilding and renewing business".
The Chamber is now planning its next webinar which will be announced soon, along with other events including several virtual training courses and Drop-in Clinics, so visit our Events page to find out more, or to book your place.
