Plea for support in production of ventilators in the UK
FOLLOWING a call with the Cabinet Office the British Chambers of Commerce is reaching out to seek support from manufacturers and industry in the UK’s response to Coronavirus.
The UK Government is specifically seeking support on assistance with the urgent supply of components and manufacturing of mechanical ventilation equipment that is vital for the NHS.
Attached is the initial specification for the Rapidly Manufactured Ventilation System (RMVS). This specification may change and develop in response to industry questions or as further information about Coronavirus becomes available.
Please share this message with your members and any companies that are able to assist should call 0300 456 3565 or email ventilator.support@beis.gov.uk and also include the BCC policy team. Contact Gareth Rhys Williams or John Lang with any specific queries. Our understanding is that the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are triaging responses based on Government support.
Following the Chancellor of the Exchequer's announcements, and as the latest official UK guidance and information is updated, our Coronavirus hub will bring this together in a single resource for Chambers and Chamber members. If you have any queries or additional guidance to contribute, please email our dedicated Coronavirus support inbox.
